Castel Valves – Italian technology with UK service by Aces
Castel Valves (safety valves) are now present in more than 90 countries on 5 continents. At Aces our Castel Valves spares team work closely with Castel to offer key product stock and off the shelf solutions to meet your requirements.
We stock a wide range of safety valves, expansion valves, ball shut off valves and solenoid valves for refrigeration and air-conditioning applications.
Working with the Rail, Supermarket and Service sectors we provide cost effect Castel Valves solutions to match most alternative components. Castel Valves product flexibility offers key sizing and rating comparisons allowing ‘like for like’ replacements of existing valve equipment. Castel are at the forefront of Pressure Relief Valve equipment offering PRV valves with a vast pressure range.
Castel Range
Some of the most common refrigeration products include changeover dual port valves 3032 series and perform the role of a service valve for a pair of safety valves, allowing the use of one and the exclusion of the other at the same time. This device allows the user to work on the isolated valve for the periodic inspection or replacement, keeping the system fully operative, safe and intact.
Aces would usually recommend the replacement of pressure relief valves within 5 years of installation using the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Castel range of products and applications; for fluorinated refrigerants (HFC and HFO) and natural refrigerants (HC and CO2). Devices for the protection from possible over-pressures, compared to the operating conditions for which they were designed of the main components of a refrigeration or air-conditioning system.
Devices of which are available in a wide range of discharge capacities, set pressures, connections including 1/4” NPT,3/8″ NPT,1/2” NPT,3/4” NPT,1″ G-M,1/2″ G-M.
What is a Pressure Relief Valve (PRV)?
A relief valve or pressure relief valve (PRV) is a type of safety valve used to control or limit the pressure in a system; pressure might otherwise build up and create a process upset, compressor or equipment failure. The pressure is relieved by allowing the pressurized fluid to flow from an auxiliary passage out of the system. The relief valve is designed or set to open at a predetermined set pressure to protect pressure vessels and other equipment from being subjected to pressures that exceed their design limits. When the set pressure is exceeded, the relief valve becomes the “path of least resistance” as the valve is forced open and a portion of the fluid is diverted through the auxiliary route.
Thermostatic expansion valves, solenoid expansion valves (PWM valves), motorized expansion valves for refrigeration and air conditioning applications; for fluorinated refrigerants (HFC and HFO) and natural refrigerants (HC and CO2).
Valves available in a wide range of capacities, working pressures/temperatures, connections; solenoid expansion valves coupled to various types of coils with different powers and all the most common voltages.
The 3-way valves with ball shutter series 6690EM, 6697EM and 6698EM have been developed by Castel for all the applications that use the sub-critical or trans-critical R744 refrigeration fluid.
Normally closed solenoid valves for refrigeration systems with direct acting principle or membrane/piston pilot operated. They can be installed on the three main branches of a plant (liquid line, suction line, hot gas line).
Solenoid valves normally closed for industrial use with direct acting principle or membrane/piston pilot operated.
Castel fittings are designed to be installed on commercial refrigerating systems and on civil and industrial air conditioning plants. They can be used with refrigerants belonging to the Group (R22, HFC, HFO and HFC/HFO blends) and with refrigerants belonging to Group 1 (HC).
Castel safety valves have been designed to be installed in refrigeration and industrial civil conditioning systems, on the following elements: condensers, liquid receivers, evaporators, liquid accumulators, positive displacement compressor discharge, heat exchangers, oil separators, or piping.
Their role is to protect the above-listed equipment from possible overpressure compared to the operating conditions for which they were designed.
